Join Us for Art Festivus!

It's that time of the year again.  Time to dust off the old Festivus pole and air our grievances.

Actually, our grievances are few this year, but we do have feats of strength to exercise.  They are the talents of our artist friends, and we'll be showing them off on Friday, December 13th.

What's that you say?  Gallery 360's end of the year group show opens on Friday the Thirteenth?  Hell yes, it does.  We ain't askared of no superstitious nonsense.  We'll pin it to the floor.

The opening is 6 to 9pm.  We'll be featuring works by Amy Edgington, Laura Fanning, Lynn Frost, Matt Hawk, Angela Davis Johnson, Vernon Oberle, Ruth Pasquine, Nina Sharkey Culpepper, Ming Triplett, Byron Werner, Nina Willacey, Kelley Naylor Wise, Debra Young & others. The show will run through Jan. 31, but since there's some kind of gift-giving holiday coming up, some of the pieces may exit the building early.  Don't worry, though; we plan to replace them with more good stuff.

So, that's Friday the Thirteenth, 6 to 9pm, for the Festivus for the rest of us.

Byron Werner's "Josephine Baker"

The newest Byron Werner mixed media portrait on display is of the great Josephine Baker.  She is something to behold.

Byron Werner's "Django Reinhardt"

Byron's mixed media portrait of the great jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt, is displayed at the gallery in two forms; the original hangs alongside the full sized giclĂ©e print.  Byron uses all sorts of reflective materials, so the originals have an electric, shimmering quality that can't be reproduced in the prints. But what are reproduced with impeccable accuracy are the colors.  Both Byron and Amy have prints for sale that are excellent reproductions of the originals.

A Groovy Time

Thanks to everyone who came out last night for the opening of "Edgy & Goofy." We had a great time visiting with our friends, listening to Rural War Room and, of course, viewing the incredible artwork of Byron Werner and Amy Edgington.

Unfortunately, we had so much fun we forgot to take photos.  No matter; this collage of Amy's called "Retro Party Animals" pretty much shows what went down.  Except for the dinosaurs.

Coming Sept 7th: "Edgy and Goofy"

Mark your calendars!  September 7th is the opening for Amy Edgington and Byron Werner's collision of cut-ups show titled "Edgy and Goofy."

"Coming Out of Her Shell" by Amy Edgington

Amy is a whiz with scissors and a fun punster.  She loves dinosaurs and household objects.  Her collages are collected by the most discerning squirrels, cows and other lovers of fine art.

Dr. Timothy Leary by Byron Werner

Byron builds meticulous mandalas and portraits of cultural icons from layered punched and cut papers and foils. He is also half of Rural War Room, the coiner of Space Age Bachelor Pad Music, and an avid experimenter in life.

Join us on Saturday, September 7th, from 6 to 9pm.  Free and open to all.

Rural War Room will be laying down the zounds.

The show will remain through October 19th.
